- The Palestinian genocide did not happen in a vaccuum.

The UK has played an active role lending military, economic and financial support to the Israeli regime.

Genocide should not be understood as a single event, rather it is a process that takes place over decades.

The genocide of Native American's took place over several hundreds of years and cannot be pinpointed to a single event. It was a series of events and government policies with the goal of destroying the Native Americans as a people and creating a society where Native Americans are completely marginal.

- Genocide is a crime under international law.

The Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide 1948 was the first human rights treaty adopted by the UN General Assemby, in the wake of the horrors of the Holocaust and WW2. The treaty was ratified by the UK in 1970.

Worse than failing to honour it's obligation to prevent genocide, the UK has willfully aided and abetted the Israeli regime to commit the crime of genocide.

Obligations under the 1948 Convention

  • Obligation not to commit genocide.
  • Obligation to prevent genocide.
  • Obligation to punish genocide.
  • Obligation to ensure that effective penalties are provided for persons found guilty of criminal conduct according to the Convention.
  • Obligation to try persons charged with genocide in a competent tribunal of the State in the territory of which the act was committed, or by an international penal tribunal with accepted jurisdiction.
  • Obligation to grant extradition when genocide charges are involved.

- Apartheid is a crime under international law.

Similarly, apartheid is not a buzz-word, but a recognised crime against humanity, according to the UN International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid 1973.

Unlike the name suggests, apartheid does not simply mean keeping ethnicities “apart”.

Apartheid is defined as a government instituted and legally codified system of racial hierarchy where an ethnic group is systematically privileged over others.

Apartheid Definition

  • Any legislature measures that deny a group of political, social, economic, and cultural life of the country.
  • Deliberate imposition on a racial group or groups of living conditions calculated to cause its or their physical destruction in whole or in part.
  • Any measures designed to divide the population by racial lines.
  • Murders of members of a racial group or groups.
  • Inflicting physical and mental harm.
  • Arbitrary arrest and illegal imprisonment.
  • Exploitation of labor of members of a racial group.
  • Persecution of organizations and persons because they oppose the apartheid.

- Ergo: MPs that support genocide & apartheid in the Occupied Palestinian Territories should be tried as war criminals

Actions taken by both the UK Government and individual MPs to support the Israeli regime as it commits crimes against humanity are not simply an issue to be adjudicated by voters at the ballot box.

UK MPs and the Government have fostered the conditions for genocide against Palestinians and are themselves complicit in the crime of genocide, this should be settled in courts as breaches of international law.

This website seeks to create a record of how the UK Parliamentarians acted during this moment of deep national shame.
